About Revelation University of Florida

EDUCATIONAL APPROACH

Founded in 2001 and reorganized in 2015, Revelation RUF integrates faith and learning to empower Christian leaders worldwide. We do not waver in our faith. We are non-traditional. We recognize that there are many innovative approaches to student education. We encourage ingenuity that accomplishes excellence!

Accreditation Information

Why do some Christian colleges skip accreditation?

Some faith-based schools avoid accreditation because:

  • They want to teach strictly from their religious perspective without outside oversight
  • They disagree with the standards set by accrediting bodies and the expense of a commission.
  • They’re smaller institutions that don’t want the cost or bureaucracy of any commission.

This is especially true for certain Bible colleges or seminaries focused mainly on ministry training and other trainings that are important or relevant to community needs.

Accreditation Information

"Men of Israel, listen to this: Jesus of Nazareth was a man accredited by God to you by miracles, wonders and signs, which God did among you through him, as you yourselves know." Acts 2:22 (NIV)

Accreditation is not legally required

In the U.S., colleges (including Christian ones) don’t have to be accredited to exist. They can legally operate if they meet state requirements. That’s why some religious schools choose not to pursue accreditation—they may want independence over curriculum, hiring, or doctrine.

FORMAL STATEMENT REGARDING ACCREDITATION STATUS AND LEGAL COMPLIANCE

To Whom It May Concern:

This statement is issued on behalf of Revelation University of Florida to clarify its legal status, operational authority, and position regarding accreditation within the United States higher education framework. Revelation University of Florida operates in accordance with applicable laws governing postsecondary institutions. Under the Higher Education Act (20 U.S.C. § 1001 et seq.), accreditation is not mandated as a legal prerequisite for the operation of an educational institution. Rather, federal law establishes a system for the recognition of accrediting agencies, not institutions themselves. Revelation University of Florida maintains full transparency regarding its accreditation status through publicly available disclosures. Under established legal principles, including due process and the doctrine of scienter (intent), there can be no claim of misrepresentation where such disclosures are clear, consistent, and accessible.

It is also a recognized fact that numerous institutions—both domestically and internationally—operate lawfully without accreditation, particularly within religious, private, or specialized education sectors. Legality is determined by compliance with applicable state authorization requirements and consumer protection standards, not by accreditation status alone.  Sincerely, Administration, Revelation University of Florida.

FORMAL STATEMENT REGARDING ACCREDITATION STATUS AND LEGAL COMPLIANCE

Specifically, pursuant to 20 U.S.C. § 1099b, the U.S. Department of Education evaluates accrediting bodies to determine their reliability as authorities on educational quality. At no point does federal law require that all institutions obtain accreditation in order to exist or operate legally.

Furthermore, implementing regulations under 34 CFR Part 602 confirm that accreditation is a voluntary, non-governmental process. The role of the U.S. Department of Education is limited to recognizing accrediting agencies and administering federal financial aid programs under Title IV.

Accordingly, the absence of accreditation does not constitute illegality. Rather, it impacts eligibility for federal funding and certain institutional recognitions, but not the lawful operation of the institution itself.   Additionally, Revelation University of Florida collaborates with and refers students to accredited institutions, where admission decisions are made independently by those institutions in accordance with their own policies and procedures.

For these reasons, any assertion that the institution is operating unlawfully solely due to its accreditation status is without legal merit. This statement is made in good faith and in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations. We appreciate your understanding of the laws of the Land and the laws of the biblical context.
